New.

 

It's a term you see all the time in stores because marketers know we respond favorably when something is "new" or "improved." But new can sometimes be disconcerting, maybe even a little scary.  If you are new to a neighborhood, a job, or a school, it can be lonely. You might feel left out or excluded.

Being new to a church can feel like that, too, especially if you are returning to church after being away for a period of time.  Maybe you are new in your relationship with Christ, so you really feel like you are on the outside.

We understand this feeling.  Many of us have been there ourselves.  And that is why at GracePointe, we want to do everything in our power to make you feel at home, to make you feel welcomed, and most of all, to make you feel loved.

Sometimes churches can come across as an exclusive club.  Worse than that, sometimes we give the impression we think we are better than other people.  We don't mean to come across this way, but unfortunately, sometimes we do.  We understand that, too.  Again, many of us have been in that position ourselves.
